I was somewhat sceptical when I first encountered advertisments for this book in New Dawn. Initially, I dismissed it as another run-of-the-mill 'esoteric work'. However, over time, the book, and its self proclaimed concept slowly but surely niggled at my mind, urging further enquiry. After further investigation, and consideration, I purchased the book and am so very grateful that I did!
At first, after absorbing the first few chapters I was often left scratching my head, wondering where its seemingly chaotic and haphazard arrangement of material and insight was actually leading. I admit that I more than once considered the possibility that Laura was leading me, the reader, every which way but towards the actual truth in an attempt to cover up a lack of knowledge. However, it wasn't long before the the seemingly disjointed material started to reveal a fine but definite thread, leading the reader via a winding road towards ideas and perspectives that are hard to ignore.
The way in which Laura weaves together elusive pieces of material from a vast array of sources to form a comprehensive tapestry of information is amazing.
The book did not simply answer my questions ( although it did do this at least initially ), it took me further and made me realize that in a lot of cases, I wasn't really even asking the right questions.
As a beginner in the search, I found Lauras' detailed and insightful perspectives an excellent guide through the multitude of 'new age' doctrines in circulation.
This book had an effect on the way I perceive the world around me. A hefty, but excellent read!!
